We managed to put together a nice three course dinner for New Years - here's a photo of the table for starters:

Entrees:
The langoustines - I got mine frozen, but raw. These are from off the coast of Læsø, a small Danish island.

Smothered in herbal butter and ready to go under the grill:

Main course:
We miraculously managed to find fresh haricots, and there was a nice selection of mushrooms at the greengrocers. The beef was supplied by a farmer and was delicious, and the rosemary out in our little greenhouse was good for a few sprigs to flavour the potatoes with.

Dessert:
I've made this raspberry roll before, and it's wonderfully light and creamy, with just the right hint of acidity, and I thought it would offset the intensity of a chocolate mousse very well.

Chocolate mousse hates me (I always have trouble when mixing the ingredients), but I love chocolate mousse.

I'm in serious need of some nice dishes for serving desserts!
This kept us very full until it was time for midnight champagne and baked marzipan confections.
Happy New Year!
