I am trying to be a good earth inhabitant and this bled over into the easter/spring feast.
Natural egg dyes.
To make the dye, bring the water and color source to a boil. Lower the heat and simmer for about 15 minutes. Cool and strain through cheesecloth-lined strainer, then stir in vinegar.
Red
2 raw beets grated
2 cups water
2-3 tsp white vinegar
Blue
1 cup purple grape juice
3 cups water
2-3 tsp white vinegar
Yellow (this is one I tried and it is beautiful and very vibrant)
2 table turmeric
2 cups water
