screwed up......hit wrong key, will restart recipe for Lasagna
1) Saute 1 medium diced onion and 1 clove garlic in 1 tbsp. olive oil 2) Add: 1 lb. ground beef 1 tin mushrooms and liquid 1 tin(7 1/2 oz) tomato sauce 1 tin(5 1/2 oz) tomato paste 3/4 cup water 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. oregano Let simmer for 15 minutes. 3) Put 10 lasagna noodles in boiling salted water and cook for 20 minutes. 4) Mix 1 egg 1 cup (creamed small curd) cottage cheese 1 tbsp. olive oil 1 tsp. salt 1/3 cup grated parmessan cheese Beat with rotary beater or in food processor untkil mixture is a paste. 5) Put noodles in collander and break an egg over all. Swish to coat noodles. 6) Pour half meat sauce in casserole dish. Cover with half the noodles. Sread cottage cheese paste over noodles. Cover with remaining noodles and top with the rest of the sauce. Cover casserole dish with foil and bake for 45 minutes in 350 degree oven. Remove foil and top with 4 oz. grated mozzarella cheese and bake for another 15 minutes.
I love this recipe and it makes a large batch, which also can be reheated for leftovers. If your friend does not like the mushrooms, they can always pick them out, but they do add to the sauce. If you really feel that you don't want to add the mushrooms, then I would add more tomato sauce to make up the shortfall in liquid.
