I was supposed to report for Demon Hunting training on Saturday, but I don't think that will happen. I injured my leg last night. Well, actually I injured it last Friday, it healed, then I reaggravated it yesterday evening. I sparred with the MMA guys on Friday, and Jay (my opponent), landed one solid muay thai roundhouse to my right thigh. By Friday night, my right leg was as stiff as a board. I was pretty much healed on Monday, but I went to a TKD sparring class last night, and my opponent got me on that same leg with his knee. It's not painful right now, but last night was excrutiating. I had to go to the doctor to get some pain pills. The doctor said it's a quadricep hematoma, a very deep muscle bruise. Right now, I can hardly bend my leg, and my knee is consumed by the swelling.
Whatever happens, I'm not going to get upset. That'd be taking the easy way out. I've practiced martial arts for almost six years, and I haven't had a injury that put me off my feet until now. If l learned anything from Dad's injury over the past two years, it's to trust that God has a purpose in everything.
Interesting note, I read an article several weeks ago that said one's youth is officially over at age 27. I turned 27 a couple of weeks ago, and now I'm walking with a cane. Go figure.
