she stole my heart & my cat

Today, I was a social studies teacher, which actually only two classes worth, because the end of the day was whole-school bonding with games and relay races (the whole school is divided into houses, like Hogwarts, it's so cute). "My" team won, which was adorable.

First I taught 7th graders (they were all intrigued to hear what movies I've seen recently, and they were raving about 300. Is it sad that I feel like they're too young for that movie? it's so violent *shakes cane*) and then the most well behaved 8th graders ever.

It's a nice school, but I'm excited about my interview and hopefully subbing next week at Labyrinth (who is becoming less and less labyrinthine by the day) because even though both schools are the same size (ish)... I like the vibe at Labyrinth better. So we'll see.

Also, how cute is "Little House on the Prairie"? Silly, yes, but makes me miss reading all of those books as a kid. Mom used to read them to me and Younger Sister; I remember being very distraught at the idea that they lost their dog fording a river (don't worry, they didn't).

Still, cousin is coming over tonigh, most likely, for college essay help and perhaps a movie (she is 17! When did she get so old? When did I?). Seeing as I still have Hot Fuzz and Casino Royale (a new copy because the other one froze halfway through) from Netflix (along with Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, which I'm sure is crap), we'll survive ;o)

As for the subject line? So I Married an Axe Murderer is on. I heart that movie.
