keep away from runaround sue

Sitting with a sleeping cat is quite possibly one of the cutest things ever. Clearly, Pete is repaying my kindness of letting him go outside earlier and eat grass (our yard isn't quite prepared for unsupervised cat-ness, so it's kind of like he's in jail and gets rec time, it's kind of adorable) and do other cat-like things by sitting near me. He fell asleep on my hand a bit ago. Cuuuuuute.

Today is my cousin's birthday (17? I think) so yaaaaaaaaaaay! I get to go to the birthday dinner at their house, which is excellent. Then tomorrow I'm subbing as a 7th grade homeroom teacher and social studies teacher at Forest, which will be funny in a wholly academic way.

My interview at Labyrinth is for next Tuesday, so we'll see how that goes. I mean, I don't have the most experience with teaching computers, but I make up for it with enthusiasm? I dunno.

But Walgreens says my prescription is ready, so I'm going to do some dishes and head "over" to town. Now, the reason I'm posting is I need your help, Obi-Wan Kenobi. My cousin needs a present and (thoroughly not breaking with tradition) I'm getting her a book. Suggestions? I know she likes Harry Potter; I might buy her the Dark is Rising sequence. Or maybe Hippolyte's Island, which Laurie R. King says is "for fans of Griffen and Sabine with a longer attention span", which might be nice because I gave her the first and second GS books for Christmas. Suggestions, though don't feel bad if I don't take them ;o)

I also should really get a present (I'm thinking a book of Winnie the Pooh) for my new niece, eeeeee. So cute.

And clean the house and take out the trash and do dishes and laundry. Wohoo?
