Yesterday we went to see
Spring Awakening. This is a "coming of age" show. Plot was OK, music was pretty good, but it was pretty risque. In fact, it would have been banned in Boston 50 years ago..
Yesterday I played the Largo movement from Vivaldi's flautino concerto, with guitar accompaniment. This piece is particularly gorgeous, and I was very happy with the way I did it. There is an old guy in our church that just loves my flute, and I was told that he walked in while I was playing and was very loud in his appreciation of it. I guess I was concentrating so hard on enjoying the music that I didn't hear him. I'm just glad they are not getting tired of it yet.
After church we rehearsed several more pieces, which will take us through Lent. I also have 4 or 5 "spring" pieces in mind. Every time I think I am running out of pieces I come across more.
Saturday I went to my 3rd rehearsal of CP flutes. I'm really enjoying this group -- I just wish they would rehearse once a week instead of every other week.
Today at work I had visitors from the UK. Somehow I didn't get on the master schedule that WE had for them, even though they had accepted a meeting with me. However, we managed to work this out and I had 2.5 hours of training with them. After 13 years, this type of training is so much fun for me. I get to talk about my product for hours and hours, and they are very interested, ask very intelligent questions, and seem impressed. I have been living and breathing it for so long that it is very easy and relaxing for me.
