Albany

Dinner last night was at the Shed, which turned out to be a pretty good place. The menu had something for everyone. We ordered a "ski sampler", which was 6 4-oz. glasses of beer served on a ski. Perfect for sharing among 3 people.

This morning was very cloudy again. Today was reserved for shopping. We started out at the Ben and Jerry ice cream factory tour. I was not quite up for ice cream at 9 AM. Plus, they were not actually making the ice cream today, and this made the tour pretty lame. Then on to the cider place. We got to see them preparing the cider press and start the press, which was pretty interesting, and the cider was delicious. But then we had to spend an hour shopping. Next, on to Cabot cheese. The cheese they had out for tasting was delicious, but then we had to spend another hour shopping. We did buy a couple of things, but we were not interested in shopping. I guess that's the bad thing about tours -- too many gift shops, and we don't have the choice to bypass them.

We drove toward Albany for about an hour, then stopped for lunch at a Wendy's. We arrived at the train station about 5, dropped off almost everybody, and then the bus driver brought us to our hotel. There are some interesting buildings in Albany, so tomorrow we will walk around for an hour to take some pictures, then eat breakfast, take the shuttle to the train station to pick up our car, and head on home.
