Capital Winds

The music went well at church this morning, although I messed up the last 3 notes of the Prokofieff Gavotte.  This was annoying, because it's one of my favorite pieces.  I was congratulating myself on doing a good job of it a little too early.  After lunch we watched Miss Potter again, so that I could see the whole thing at one time.  Then Wesley called to talk about our Christmas trip to Florida.  He has found hotels for most of the trip and has already booked most of them!  It certainly is wonderful not to have to do all that work myself.

After dinner I thought I would do more research on finding an ensemble to join, since I am not at all sure I will be able to do the ensemble at Hartt.  I happened to come across the Capitol Winds web site with an on-line form that I could fill out for information.  Many people I have talked to have recommended I look into this organization, and I was planning on doing this by about now, so I filled out the form.  About an hour later I checked my email, and I already had a reply.  They have scheduled me for an audition on Sept. 3rd.  So we'll see if I get in.  I just hope that the first concert is not during the vacation we have planned for the end of November.
