Chicago Auditions!
WHO: Ms. Hasting and students.
WHAT: Auditions.
WHERE: Auditorium.
WHEN: Monday, February 6th, 2012.
Ms. Hasting had arrived at the end of the last period to set up the sides for the audition. Each student would select which part they were auditioning for and read selected text. Then, there was the singing portion. Ms. Hasting brought her own accompaniment for the piano and looked forward to hearing the students sing. She knew there was some great talent at William McKinley.
As the students began to enter, she stood alone on stage. "Hello, and welcome," she said once it seemed like everyone was there that should be. "If you are here for dance auditions as your main focus, please come forward, take a packet on the left there." She indicated the stack set on the stage. "It includes a DVD with a choreographed dance number. Please learn the number and come back on Wednesday for the call backs. Your audition will be then. If you are auditioning for a singing, speaking, and dancing role, please take a dance packet and then remain for the rest of the audition."
She waited for the DVD packets to be taken and then looked over the group of students remaining. "Excellent. Now, for your audition, each one of you will take the stage, tell me who you are, what role you are auditioning for, wait for my cue, then begin with your song." Ms. Hasting stepped down, picked up the audition sign up sheet, and called the first person up.
