Well its been like two and something weeks since I last posed an entry so I feel a weak (very weak) obligation to write something, if not for that obligatory feeling then for all of you who are always hoping there is something new to read on your friends list.
I'm home for spring break (hooray!). It is quite uh... boring I suppose. I've been essentially bored since I got home. And my appetite shrinks to that of a thing that has a really small appetite (a fly!). Seriously, I eat so much at school and I cook myself all this wonderful food and then I get home and I don't want to cook or eat or anything.
As I've told half the individuals that probably read this body of somewhat amusing text, I had a mini accident on the drive down from Syracuse. I had one of them irritations in my throat that come in an instant and as a reflex I let out one mighty violent cough. In the process of doing so, being my brilliant self, I must have jerked the steering wheel into a direction leading off the road. When I refocused I saw my car going onto dirt.
It wouldn't have been so problematic if it was simply dirt I drove onto I reckon. However, since the ground is soaked from snowmelt and rain, it was mud. So I drove into mud and lost control of my car. I did some sweet out of control skids and such. It was extremely nerve-racking at the time (I was simply saying "oh shit oh shit oh shit" the entire time), as I've never lost control of a vehicle before, let alone at 70mph. The noise of the dirt/rocks/whatever it was I went didn't help either. Luckily though, I did not hit any other cars, nor did I crash into the giant-ass concrete median separating Route 17 East/West, or any of the highway reflectors. I consider myself to be extremely fortunate... and stupid for getting into that mess. But my car was relatively unscathed; I drove home with no trouble and the only damage was a wheel-bearing in one of my back tires. It was by no means cheap to fix, but I'll take a $300 repair over a more serious crash/accident.
So that story actually acts as a good segway for last week. The reason why I had such a nasty cough is because I got sick sunday night (1 week 2 days ago Sunday). I had a lovely fever for three or so days, and an extremely painful throat. I was also coughing up trace amounts of blood, which by all means isn't a good sign. However in the typical stubborn, stoic, Jablonski-family reaction, I didn't bother going to a doctor at all last week. I simply didn't go to class unless I had an exam or a lab. My voice was severely crippled friday, was totally gone saturday, and sunday/yesterday it started to recover. My voice is more or less back in shape and I'm feeling better. I was going to go to a doctor, but I think my illness is fading away so I'll save myself a trip. That and I hate doctors and hospitals.
Uhhhh, congratulations! If anyone has wanted to know what has happened in my life in the last month or so, this is pretty much a summation. I'm a pretty boring individual to be honest. As Joe Walsh put it, "I'm just an ordinary, average guy".
I should be like... more productive or something. I have to shower still, so I suppose I'll go strip down naked and enter the shower after I finish writing this.
I heard that song I'm secretly obsessed with. The Sweet Escape is probably the only "modern" song I actually like to listen to. Only because it reminds me of the latter half of senior year. Mainly outside slaving away and putting brick after brick for that damnable memorial park as Billy would whistle the song over and over. And old man Bob would start singing his Hawaiian music. Man I miss senior year. It has been like two years now. Time flies too quickly for my tastes.
So yeah... thats about it I reckon. I'm going to go shower now. And then stay up some more like the bum I am.
