Title: Go The Distance [2/2]
Author: FloweryMisha
Pairing: MinSang
Warning: BoyxBoy Love. Enough said.
Summary: It has never occurred to Mingi that Yeosang wants to date.
[1] It had been a week since the amusement park incident.
Mingi hadn’t messaged Yeosang, and vice versa.
But he kind of gave up.
If Yeosang really didn’t want to tell him anything anymore, then so be it. If Yeosang wanted to date that freshman in the end, so be it. If Yeosang didn’t want to message him anymore, so be it. Mingi felt tired of being the one to initiate things. Didn’t Yeosang say they would talk things through? So why hadn’t he contact him?
What is this, even? Our friendship sucks. Maybe I should’ve just bugged Yunho for today. Or willingly being the third-wheel between Wooyoung and San? Nah, it’s suicide. Better to bug Yunho.
Unconsciously, Mingi clicked Yeosang’s profile picture. The pretty male had his profile picture changed a few days ago-no, Mingi wasn’t stalking, he just happened to find out-into a candid picture, which was taken by Song Mingi himself. Yeosang’s face was somewhat hidden underneath the bangs because he wasn’t looking at the camera, but even so, anyone could tell how pretty he was.
Pretty.
Mingi had been thinking a lot about how pretty Yeosang was lately.
How could he not realize this before?
And that birthmark, damn… To others, it may be a flaw, but to Mingi, it just made Yeosang even prettier. There was no need to cover it with make-up, Yeosang was already perfect the way he was.
Mingi loved it whenever Yeosang stood near him. He loved it whenever Yeosang chose to sit beside him than the others. He loved it whenever their shoulders bumped, or when their fingers touched slightly, or when Yeosang broke into a small, beautiful smile the moment their eyes met. He loved it whenever…
Ah, I see what it is…
He loved it whenever Yeosang was with him.
It’s really yearning.
“Don’t date him,” Mingi whispered to his phone. “Don’t date him, please…”
This feeling… It was only towards Yeosang. It had been only Yeosang. It could only be Yeosang.
“Please, Yeosang…”
I’m head over heels for you, Kang Yeosang.
***
Another week had gone by just like that.
Ever since Mingi understood his feelings towards Yeosang, he was still unsure of what to do. Especially since Yeosang hadn’t contacted him, which Mingi figured that he, too, needed some time to himself.
His friends had been trying to cheer him up, but no one was successful.
Wooyung dropped by to check up on him one day, which he ignored, but he actually felt grateful for his attention. The male seemed to stuff something into his drawer on the nightstand though (“Ehh, you might need them someday. Just keep them there!”). Knowing Wooyoung, it was probably things Mingi didn’t want to know about.
Mingi felt like keeping it all to himself, because he didn’t want his feelings to ruin their friendship, but the sight of Yunho smiling supportively at him nearly broke him down. The other giant just happened to show up unannounced after his morning class.
They went to the canteen together and chose a secluded table in the corner.
“I’m in love with Yeosang.”
“I know. I mean, we know. Duh. Finally, you admit it.”
Mingi looked up at him. “Did you know all along? Are you…disgusted? Do you hate me?”
“Why would I hate you?” Yunho rolled his eyes. “Why would I even feel disgusted? You guys have been my friends for a long time. And to be honest…I kinda knew Yeosang swung that way. As for Wooyoung and San…oh come on, don’t tell me you’re unaware of their lovey-dovey never-ending honeymoon phase since high school?” When Mingi merely blinked, he cackled. “Oh man, no wonder it took you this long to realize you like Yeosang.”
“What about you?”
“What about me?”
“Have you ever liked someone? Or don’t tell me that you did, but you never told me because you chose Wooyoung over me.”
Yunho tilted his head in amusement, giggling. “It would be hilarious if it really happened, but sadly, no. I’ve never really liked anyone before.”
“Uh…are you…” Mingi scratched his forehead, clearly troubled by what he was about to say. “You know, straight or…”
“Ah,” Yunho pondered as he played with his glass. “I don’t know. I don’t really care, I guess. It can be whoever. I mean, I’ve never had a grudge against women…and seeing San treats our Wooyoung like that actually makes me feel that even between two men, true love does exist.”
“But you’d tell me when you finally like someone, right? Right?” Mingi pressed. “Right?”
A laugh. “Sure, sure. You’ll be the first to know.”
Mingi smiled. He was thankful for Yunho. “So…what do you think I should do?”
“Well, I’m gonna have to say the obvious option… Have you thought about telling him?”
“Honestly, I’m afraid to confront him. I don’t think I’m ready for whatever he’s about to say. I guess I’d just wait until he makes up his mind about dating that freshman or not, to see if we could patch our friendship…”
“Do you really want to remain friends with Yeosang?”
Mingi pursed his lips. “No. Hell no.”
“Then why would you wait about him dating that freshman? Let’s say he rejects him. What if he changes his mind and accepts anyone else that comes along? Have you ever thought about that?”
Yunho received a headshake in return.
“Why not make him date you?”
“Easy for you to say. What if I got rejected?”
“Then we can be third-wheels together!” Yunho said it so sincerely with an evil laugh that Mingi felt like smacking him, hard. “Seriously, what are you so afraid of? You just need to step out of your comfort zone. You won’t know until you try, Mingi.”
“But… Our friendship…”
“Nothing will ever happen to our friendship, no matter what. Wooyoung, San and me will make sure of that. So just go. Go get Yeosang. Go do whatever makes you happy. Go!!”
Mingi was slightly annoyed that Yunho actually urged him to really go away, even though he knew it was a good intention. Sighing, Mingi typed the words that had been weighing his mind for a long time on his phone before hitting send.
“Go!!”
“Shut up, I get it!!”
I need to talk to you, Yeosang.
***
Usually in a drama, probably after sending a dramatic message like that would end up with Mingi running towards wherever Yeosang was, to tell him he loved him, to declare his feelings that the pretty male was the only one in this world for him.
Sadly, in reality, the message wasn’t even delivered.
When Mingi tried to call Yeosang’s number, it was inactive.
Yunho was having too much fun to see Mingi’s love failed to launch that Mingi decided it was best to just really part ways with the other male right then. Bye, see you never.
Mingi pondered of where to go. Should he go to Yeosang’s apartment?
A random café to mope?
The library to sleep?
In the end, he decided to just go home and rest. Mingi honestly really wished to be able to talk to Yeosang right now, so that all of this would be resolved right away. How long had it been since both of them stall this topic? Yunho was right, he would never know until he tried. Even if Yeosang rejected the idea of them being together, at least…
At least you know I love you.
Mingi must be really wanted to see Yeosang that he even imagined the said male standing in front of his apartment on the second floor from afar.
Wow, what a good-looking person. He looks exactly like Yeosang. His hair. His legs. His…clothes?
Mingi frowned.
Wait.
It really was Yeosang.
His steps quickened. Before he knew it, he was running. Mingi ran, to make sure that he wasn’t mistaken, that it was really the love of his life. A surge of excitement rushed through his veins. Mingi climbed two stairs at a time so that he could reach Yeosang even faster.
“Yeosang-”
Mingi immediately reached for the black-haired male, heart full of things that he wanted to say, but his excitement turned to devastation when he realized that the top two of Yeosang’s buttons had been missing. His hair was messy and disheveled. The way he clutched at his chest with his hands trembling, made it obvious that he had been crying.
“Yeosang.”
Yeosang’s eyes were still red.
“Mingi…”
Mingi bit back everything he was about to say and pulled Yeosang closer. “Let’s talk inside.”
The moment Yeosang stepped inside, Mingi immediately pinned him against the door, causing the door to slam loudly. The taller of the two could feel Yeosang gasping beneath him. He didn’t know what happened, but he felt his anger boiling that all he could do was gritting his teeth as hard as he could.
Mingi rested his forehead against the door, afraid that he would be unable to contain his emotions if he looked so much at Yeosang’s face right now.
“What happened…?”
Yeosang gasped softly, but still, no words came out.
“Think carefully…before you answer, Yeosang,” Mingi’s voice was so calm that he took a second to wonder how the hell he managed to compose his emotions. “Did someone…do something to you?”
“I-I don’t know…”
“Where’s your phone?”
“I think I lost it.”
“And your clothes?”
“I-I swear it’s not like what you think.”
“What do you know about what I think?”
Mingi shut his eyes. It came out harshly, he didn’t mean it like that. No, he should stay calm. Yeosang was here.
The brown-haired male inched even closer to Yeosang, if it was possible because their bodies were already pressed against each other. Mingi could feel Yeosang’s heartbeat against his arm. His anger started dissipating when he inhaled Yeosang’s familiar scent. Mingi took a deep breath, carefully forming the words he was about to say.
“Yeosang.”
“Y-yes?”
“Why didn’t you ask me?”
Yeosang flinched.
Mingi felt a strand of hair brushing against his cheek, and oh, he wanted more.
“If you wanted to date…”
Yeosang’s hand bumped against his arm, and no, it still wasn’t enough.
“Why not ask me?”
Mingi dared himself to steal a glance at Yeosang, and what he saw before him almost made him lose his mind.
Yeosang looked like he was about to cry. “B-but Mingi…you’re not even…”
That sentence made everything fell into place. At that moment, Mingi understood. He leaned down and pressed their lips together.
“For you, Yeosang, I am.”
***
The next thing Mingi knew, they were already on his bed.
When their lips started meeting for the second time, it didn’t seem that they have any intention of stopping. When their hands started lacing together, it didn’t seem that they have any intention of separating.
Mingi peppered needy kisses on every spot he could find, and he meant literally every spot.
Yeosang’s birthmark on his face. Yeosang’s neck. Yeosang’s collarbone.
Slowly, but surely, Mingi made his way from the top to the bottom parts of the pretty male. He took a few seconds to stay on Yeosang’s chest, listening to the other’s heartbeat, while at the same time sinking his teeth, eliciting a gasp or a cry that he never knew he needed.
Mingi placed one of Yeosang’s arms above his head, and the view was even sexier because it exposed Yeosang’s side. Stealing back the pretty male’s lips while his other hand fumbled to unzip the latter’s pants, was actually pretty hard to do, especially since the sound that Yeosang made was driving him crazy.
When Mingi managed to successfully throw Yeosang’s underwear randomly across the room, it was when he felt a Yeosang pulling away with his knees drawing to his chest.
“Mingi,” Yeosang breathed. His face was super flushed, his cheeks were red, but Mingi thought that he was even more beautiful. “Th-this is my first time.”
Mingi blinked.
“I’m-I’m just-”
“This is my first time too.”
“R-really?”
“But this will be your last time too.”
“Huh?”
“You can’t do this with other people anymore. Just me, okay?”
Yeosang looked like he was about to cry. He wiped a tear that was about to fall as he shyly nodded. “Just you, Mingi…”
They stayed in a comfortable silence for a while. But should silence be the only thing they listened to, when someone as beautiful as Yeosang was with him?
Subconsciously, no, deliberately, Mingi’s eyes trailed down to Yeosang’s thighs. He gently spread Yeosang’s legs apart, marveled at how smooth his skin was. Yeosang’s body felt hot under his touches, and they kissed again. When Yeosang parted his lips to breathe, Mingi didn’t waste any moment but to slide his tongue in.
“Ah-”
Mingi wanted to take it slow, he really would, but how could he when Yeosang was making lewd voices like that?
“You really drive me crazy,” was the only thing Mingi could said before continuing. Realizing that he was going to do it sooner or later, he wondered if he had anything to prepare Yeosang. Somewhat curious, Mingi reached over to the drawer on the nightstand, and wasn’t surprised to see (a lot damn of) lubes and contraception. Very thoughtful indeed. He still hadn’t decided to kill or hug Wooyoung the next time they met.
Yeosang covered his face with his hands when Mingi started prepping him. The pretty male squirmed, twitching and moaning when Mingi inserted his fingers, but hidden under his hands, not allowing Mingi to see his face. Mingi kept looking up, wondering what kind of face Yeosang made, but no matter what kind of expression it was, it must’ve been so damn beautiful.
When Mingi thought Yeosang was ready for him, the first thing he did was pinning Yeosang’s arms so that he wouldn’t be able to cover his face again.
“Mingi!”
“Don’t do that.”
“B-but I’m embarrassed.”
“Don’t be,” Mingi affectionately kissed Yeosang on the lips. “You’re already so pretty, Yeosang.”
“Mingi-ah!”
Yeosang cried when Mingi entered him without warning. It was rough at first, and Yeosang seemed to be in pain, but as Mingi thrusted more, trying his best to be gentle, their bodies seemed to be in sync and slowly, but surely, followed the rhythm of one another.
Mingi felt himself almost stopped functioning, because he couldn’t believe how lucky he was to be able to hold Yeosang so close like this, to be able to see Yeosang’s expression-so he could make that kind of face too-hearing Yeosang crying his name-Mingi, Mingi-to feel Yeosang scratching his back, to see him became one with him, to be the one Yeosang loved, to be his-
And when Mingi knew he had somehow hit the right spot, because the way Yeosang called out his name was a bit different, he knew both of them were close. He endlessly claimed those beautiful lips as he felt a tremendous amount of ecstasy, together with Yeosang trembling underneath him, moaning and crying his name-his name.
Mingi.
Mingi had never felt so loved before.
He carefully pulled out, feeling the traces of Yeosang’s sticky liquid on his own stomach, but he would take care of it later. Right now, he just wanted to kiss him more, and hold him close.
Yeosang tilted his head to a side, breathlessly, allowing Mingi to savor him more, to taste more of his lips, his tongue, basically whatever he had, Mingi could have it.
Mingi kissed Yeosang once again, sweetly, before asking if he was alright. The pretty male nodded, his blushing cheeks made it clear that he was actually shy about it, but he laughed softly when Mingi told him the second time would be even better.
No, but first thing first, Mingi needed to do the right thing before proceeding to the second round.
I love you, Kang Yeosang.
Yeosang couldn’t hold back his tears this time.
***
Mingi didn’t mean to overdo it, but his hormones-well yes, it was easier to blame his raging hormones. That, and the fact Mingi liked the way Yeosang cried his name so much made him feel impossible to stop. Two times turned to three, and the rest was history.
He absentmindedly counted the scattered packages of contraception on the floor, and it lingered on his mind how Yeosang begged him to stop because he couldn’t take it anymore. Mingi slapped his cheeks, promising himself he would be more considerate next time.
But the best feeling was Mingi woke up with Yeosang beside him.
The tall male carefully slid off his bed and went to the kitchen to make some coffee. He yawned as he glanced at the clock, it was nearly ten in the morning. They should just have brunch later instead of breakfast. Mingi was filling the water into the kettle when he heard the doorbell.
He didn’t really expect anyone, it could be just Yunho or the others.
“Yes?”
A good-looking male was standing in front of his apartment. The male was shorter than him, but he was cute and had chubby cheeks. Mingi didn’t think he had ever seen him before. But the way the other male was looking at him was…menacing.
“Can I help you?”
Mingi mentally reminded himself that he was much more good-looking than him and he shouldn’t feel intimidated.
“Are you the famous Mingi-hyung?”
Mingi blinked. His face, in a glance, had a resemblance to Yunho. It made Mingi want to hit him in the head.
“My name is Choi Jongho. I’m a freshman.”
“Ah…”
So he’s the freshman.
“I asked Seonghwa-hyung about Yeosang-hyung’s address, but he said he’s probably at your place. So here I am. Sorry for intruding. Is Yeosang-hyung here?”
“He’s…currently in the shower,” Mingi came up with the best lie as he crossed his arms. The fact that he drained Yeosang out could never came out to light-but hey, you could show off-no, Yeosang might not like it. But wait, what if this freshman insisted on seeing Yeosang and asked to be invited inside? Had he tidied up the living room just now? What about the evidence of their night together? He knew he should’ve tossed those condoms in the bins right away. “What can I do for you?”
Jongho eyed him cautiously, as if he knew Mingi was not telling the truth. Sighing, he offered a backpack and a smartphone to the taller male. “Last night, a few of the upperclassmen got so drunk, including Yeosang-hyung. Seonghwa-hyung didn’t want to deal with them, so he rented a hotel room and left them there. And this phone hasn’t been charged.”
That explained why Mingi’s message didn’t come through. His phone was dead.
Mingi took the proffered things with a grateful nod. “Thank you. Uh…if I may ask you for one more thing?”
“When Yeosang-hyung came around, he became panicked at the fact that he was in a hotel room. He failed to see the others, though. I tried to explain, but he was so hysterical that he broke free from my grip and thus this happened.” Jongho handed the two buttons to him, but his side-eyed expression kind of make Mingi wanted to strangle him. “I’m going to say that I understand your feeling. But nothing happened. Is everything clear?”
“Uh… Yeah.”
“I’ll leave, then.”
“Wait. Just one more. What did you mean by famous?”
Jongho looked bored. “I understand that he doesn’t want to be with me, but you’d think he’d be more considerate for not breaking more of my heart. How would you feel when someone you like says someone else’s name too much? You should’ve listened the way he talked about you. Mingi this, Mingi that, Mingi A, Mingi B, Mingi C.”
“He does?” Ming’s face brightened, his heart was swelling with pride.
Jongho growled. “I’m leaving for real this time. Anyway, please tell Yeosang-hyung I dropped by.” With that, the younger male bowed before walking away.
Mingi closed the door, processing everything that just happened. He pressed a finger against his lips. He never knew meeting Jongho would lift the burdening feeling he’d been having so much. He felt content now. Mingi knew there was no need to feel jealous over Jongho anymore.
“Mingi…?”
Mingi smiled as he heard his boyfriend calling out his name.
“Yes, babe?”
Yeosang was truly his now.
***
Things were starting to get back to the way they used to be.
Yeosang was always beside him.
When the exams were over, Yunho suggested taking a trip together, just the five of them. Everyone agreed, it had been a long time since they had fun and relax. Wooyoung wanted to go to the beach. When they were voting of which beach to go to, Seonghwa piped in, saying that he once went to a countryside and it had this pretty beach and five minutes later, he got included in the trip.
But whenever there was Seonghwa, there was Hongjoong.
So the seven of them would go on a trip together.
Yunho didn’t seem ecstatic about the numbers, especially since it was his suggestion in the first place, so when Jongho passed by, he just kind of dragged him into the group.
Yeosang glanced at Mingi worriedly, but seriously, he had nothing to be worried about. Not Jongho, not anyone else would make him feel insecure ever again. He had Yeosang, the one he really needed, and that was all that mattered.
Mingi took Yeosang’s hand in his before kissing him in front of everyone.
All of a sudden, his inner circle became very loud.
As if it was not enough that Wooyoung himself was already very loud-don’t forget annoying-add Yunho and Seonghwa and it tripled the disaster fun. He noticed the way San and Hongjoong exchanged apologetic glances. Surely the trip would be lively now that there were eight of them.
But it was alright.
He felt Yeosang squeezing his hand. Their eyes met, and they shared a certain sparkle.
Mingi loved his inner circle.
But he loved Kang Yeosang the most.
End.
“So, Jongho!” Yunho grinned. “It’s official, welcome to the group! Let’s be third-wheels together!”
Jongho nonchalantly sighed. “Yeah, no, thank you.”
