Today's PhD Comic is so true....

Apparently they're making a film of the book Flatland.

The book, being so old that it's public domain, is available on Project Gutenberg, although sadly, like many of the early PG texts, there's no HTML only ascii with brave attempts at ascii-art.
But it's a good book :-)

I love today's xkcd cartoon. So much that I'm going to save it and use it in my New Lecturer Programme dissertation.

So, has anyone else ever misread half-term as self-harmThey do say it's mostly the beginning and end of words we use for recognition, and you can scramble the middle quite a bit without destroying legibility. Today for the first time in my entire life, I attempted to wax my legs. Yuk. I'm more usually a perpetual jeans-wearing hairy-legged freak who digs out a Bic disposable for the occasional skirt-wearing occasion.
