Weeeeeell... demode made a big announcement about needing to push her court dress to Costume College 2015 and a bunch of people jumped on board. Wheeeeeee!!! I had SUCH a wonderful time at the ball hosted by fiofiorina ! I could gush, but I'll be brief.
I stayed at the hotel where the evening festivities were hosted. It is the oldest inn in Switzerland and some of its famous past guests were Napoleon III, Queen Hortense, and Alexander Dumas. We had a delicious dinner with dancing between the courses ( Read more... )

I went to Lyon, France for two days with a friend who grew up there. It is a wonderful city! We saw churches, renaissance buildings, the fine arts museum, the decorative arts museum, the food halls, the fabric museum, a silk-weaving museum, and ate typical Lyonnaise food - so rich! Wow. My friend celebrated her 50th birthday tonight with a private party at the Chateau Chantilly. I feel completely spoiled!! We visited Chateau Fontainebleau today. Yucky weather, so we aborted the forest outing, but the palace was amazing. There was a temporary exhibit of Napoleon I belongings.
