My First Open Mic Nite

with: Mr. Del hosting not really performing, B.I.D., a score of girls singing stuff
sunday I went to Huffman's deli where Mr. Del was hosting nu-soul sundays. it featured an open mic nite, so I signed up to play. I didn't really know how it was going to go, if I was going to play multiple songs or one, or if everyone was going to hate me. So they started letting people get up there, and the first guy that went was a white guy free-style rapping, and he wasn't half-bad, then some girls got up and crooned some soul and gospel tunes. So it was obviously a one song deal. Then it was my turn, I played "Me or Safety" (which is on www.myspace.com/fletchjoyner if you want to hear it.) It was a predominantly soul/r&b crowd, but they were beyond nice to me, they were clapping and yelling when I got done, and a bunch of people came up to me aftwerwards. This was a fun adventure and I greatly enjoyed it.
