Well. This video seriously riled up a lot of people, myself included. The comments on youtube are fun(ny) to read. I'm not fond of Dean right now, so if you're a Dean!girl and easily offended? There's a back button right up there.
Anyways...
They have some valid arguments, I must say. Dean telling Sam, "If you didn't know her, you'd do the same thing," is probably true, but Sam's way of empathizing with people? I don't know, he still wouldn't see things in black and white like Dean. If Amy and Sam hadn't known each other and the boys were working this case together, I have no doubt in my mind that at some point during a confrontation with Amy, Sam and Dean would have stopped and let her explain. Dean would be all "It doesn't matter," and Sam would hesitate and tell Dean to stop for a second, and Dean would whip his head to look at Sam like he was crazy, spewing stuff like "You're actually believing this crap?!" At which point, Amy would have already grabbed her kid and ran, and the boys are back to searching for them while continuing their argument. Sam knows he should kill her, but he understands the reasons behind the killings, while Dean also comprehends them, but deems them insubstantial in the face of four other dead people. They continue to talk it out, and eventually, Sam gives in and they hunt her. She begs for her kid's life, knowing she is going to die, and the boys agree to let him go. They kill her, drop the kid off somewhere, Sam broods and feels a little guilty while Dean sits quietly next to him while they drive on, and the credits roll.
However, that's not what happened because Sam does know Amy, and he once liked Amy and she also saved his life. This reminds me of both the Madison and Ruby thing. People can bitch all they want about the whole Sam and Ruby ordeal, but I am honestly over that because Sam's paid his dues. He let Lucifer go, he killed Ruby with Dean, he tried to gain back Dean's trust, and he saved the world he screwed up by jumping into the pit. Sam came back soulless, but managed to put himself back together so his brother wouldn't be alone in the world, and he's still dealing with the whole Lucifer hallucinations. Yeah, I think pulling the Ruby card again is just futile at this point, and it kind of makes you look petty and unreasonable. As for Madison, people are saying they killed her so why not Amy, or killing Amy was right because she was born a monster while Madison was human, and they still killed Madison. But did people forget that Madison had begged Sam to kill her? He was crying while he did it because he really really really didn't want to. Dean was crying, but he was crying for his brother. He would've done it if Sam had refused, so Dean killing Amy doesn't make him wrong. It's the lying.
Dean's perception of the world has always been in black and white, and I don't fault him on it, because both boys can't see grays or half of the monsters on the show would still be alive. Killing Amy? It's the Dean Winchester thing to do. He's not wrong. He's a hunter. She's a monster. Dean did the math and we all got his answer. But Dean telling Sam that he trusted him, but went behind his back, killed her anyways, and lied about it is wrong. Period. No other way around it. Dean says he knows he's screwed up, but it bothers me that Dean continues to throw things like "That's what family does, doing the dirty work" and "I was just thinking about you and your Lucifer issues" because he's just basically saying "I killed Amy for you because you couldn't do it, and I couldn't tell you because you're unstable," which frankly just sound like a bunch of excuses to me. Dean this season is becoming more and more of a hypocrite, and it's not very flattering on him.
Lastly, damn straight Sam can be pissed. Dean wasn't all right, so him yelling at Sam and pulling the Lucifer card makes me kind of want to punch him, but since I'm scared of him, I'll just quietly sit here and watch. Also, saying that he would have told Sam, eventually, is a pretty moot point now. When was "eventually?" If Dean hadn't been caught, he still wouldn't have confessed. Like seriously, how many chances has he had? -_- Calling Sam a bitch kind of (really) made him a dick and I wish Sam had punched him. Sam's face at the end had me rooting for him to just leave because he doesn't need all that crap, but then I felt guilty 'cause they belong together, so. /sigh
TL;DR -
1. Dean killing Amy wasn't wrong.
2. Sam not killing Amy wasn't wrong.
3. What was wrong? Dean lying to Sam.
4. Dean's little spiel? Not impressed. At all.
5. I though that Sam didn't need this crap, and should just go for good, but then felt guilty 'cause Dean would most likely drink himself to death, so. Meh. They're Winchesters, what can you do?
