Oct 12, 2011 23:11

First, thank you for all the birthday greetings and wishes&hearts! It's been a really fantastic day&hearts

And Zan! I got your package today &hearts! Incredible timing!!

So, birthdays at our place tend to be all day affairs--we hide presents around the house in evil ways and then cackle as the other person haplessly looks right at them and ( Read more... )

Omg, happy birthday! I didn't realise yesterday when you posted that your birthday was well, today! I was totally gonna comment to say that Lippmann Happy Birthday would be a good albeit cliched choice...

Your birthday celebration is the best and made me happy just reading!

I loved your last post btw. Finding out that someone else here is as obsessed with nail polish as I am made me happy and your coloured drawers are so awesome! I'll show you crappy cellphone photos of my current stash! (Unsolicited, but whatever...)

EEEEEEE! POLISH&hearts I see all those Essence polishes in the front and am so jealous--The polish blogs have such nice things to say about Essence and their different collections, but al we can get around here are the tiny $1 bottles in maybe 15 colors I wonder if there would be better pickins on the coasts or if it's a general issue in the US ( ... )

Awww your comment totally made my night! I love that sense of solidarity that instantly comes over you when you realise you're in the company of a fellow addict... then you start talking polish haha. It's a lot like fandom that way. I consider nail polish one of my fandoms anyway! I bore everyone. I totally checked out your nails when you posted that photo of your coffee mug but I didn't know then that you were a fellow enthusiast ( ... )

It's true, right? I think it's the one-two punch of a) SEE, I'm not crazy; there's another one out there! and b) woo-hoo! Now I get to chat about this with impunity!! It's so dangerous though--the blogs make me want Korean, Australian, Brazilian and European polishes that might start out cheap but . . . wow, shipping ^^; Clearly, the responsible thing to do is travel!

After seeing this comment, I went to look at TiNS and sooooo pretty!!! we only have some of the smaller Essence polishes, though I did see a display of these yesterday (at least the greyish/purple one, the blue one and the white one, for $2 each at an Ulta. I haven't tried them yet myself, but the swatches look nice, and they're full size bottles! Or at least much bigger than the $1 bottles. (Let me know if you like them; I'd be happy to send some your way ^_^v I am a notorious enabler ( ... )

I'm glad you like it It's kind of ridiculous and overblown, but I can't help but get all excited over it. It will be a major life accomplishment if I manage to wear every color, though ^^; This is why layering polishes is key! My birthday mani got 4 polishes at once!

And thank you&hearts!

!!! So much awesome!! And OTZ, I have been so good about avoiding FabulousStreet for so long and now between this post and your last one I've just racked up $100+ in my cart.

I absolutely adore the idea of hidden presents/scavenger hunts for presents. We used to do them all the time for family Christmases. Dad would make up riddles of different items in the house and in it/on it would be another riddle, etc. and they would always be themed (eg: when they bought me a broadsword one year they were all in old/middle English).

AND OH MY GOD, THOSE SOCKS!!! 9o9 *covets*

You, ma'am, have an amazingly adorable cat. >^.,.^

FabulousStreet is so incredibly awesome&hearts And sometimes they have limited sales, which is pretty fab! And she's great in terms of getting things to you quickly, and I hear her general customer service is great! *enables*

OMG your family's riddles are awesome! One year, the Boy did a sort of riddle-based scavenger hunt, though usually now we just hide them. I love the idea of thematized riddles&hearts

And you got a broadsword? How freaking amazing is that?!? Do you still have it? What does one do with it? And is it crazy heavy?

I love those socks--I've wanted them for years--and they weren't too expensive, but I just never bought them for myself . . . I'm going to have to consider where/when to wear them--I wonder if I should invite the boy to a swanky dinner location . . .

You, ma'am, have an amazingly adorable cat. >^.,.^OMG, right? I try not to take her for granted, because she really is a godsend&hearts She's horribly sweet and even when she decides to playfully leap on my bladder at 5:30 in the morning and ( ... )

Thank you for the birthday wishes! It was a really great day! And I gave a midterm in my one Wednesday class, so I didn't even have to teach--it was relaxing (for me at least--my students? Maybe not so much ^^;)

And the Boy did a really good job on presents this year! he's usually good in general, but there was much awesomeness this year! I used to buy all the crazy nail colors and not wear them to class, but I've given up on that ^^; So I go to class with green or blue or purple sparkly nails and I figure everyone will deal ^_^v

I was worried that it wouldn't come at all because hubby had said there was a postal strike.

^_^ Hope that everything arrived whole and that Shaun the Sheep is ok in his new home. *HUGS*

You deserve the happiest of birthdays! Love, always.

Oh so they both arrived at the same time. Phew. I was so good and resisted asking you to look out for it because that would have spoilt it somewhat.

*HUGS* - I know they're only little things. But they're sent with more love than you can shake a stick at. (The Brits say the weirdest things I swear!)

Yes I'm hoping so too. *HUGSHUGSHUGSHUGSHUGSQUISHGLOMP*

Love ya! ^__^

I need to make an Arasheep icon of my own! We cold have dueling adorable sheepies! flange5 October 15 2011, 13:51:26 UTC
sdkjfalkjfaljfI!

I was so confused that there were two packages ^^; I got the second package yesterday, and CANDY!!! TRIP TO CONTAINER STORE because at least a couple of them need to be preserved on the 'shrine' to Arashi!

My rainbow glitter nails are done! And the sun is up, so I'm going to take some pictures of them (though my camera is terrible at capturing glitter), and then post them.

So many things to do today, I feel half crazed.

1) Clean apt,

2) Update polish inventory document with results of bad behavior yesterday (the parts that happened in person. My late night online purchase . . . well, let's not talk about how I had told myself not to shop online after midnight--it's worse than Gremlins >_<

3) Grade some midterm exams (at least half of the stack, leaving half for tomorrow)

4) make cookie dough? This doesn't take much time, but what it leads to . . . does ( ... )
