I was going to be vegan for a week, because my body feels like it's been undergoing a sustained and systematic onslaught of baked goods, chocolate, and local dairy. It's all been incredibly delicious, but heavy.
However, I had to finish off a little wedge of four-pepper Montchevre goat cheese before I cooked, and now I find myself eating a mango mochi. Both are from TJ's, leftover from the three-course meal that
somebodyku and I prepared on Thursday. (The middle, main course was a Vietnamese stir fry -- my first attempt at a Vietnamese sauce, with fresh lemongrass from the Farmstand!, and it was tasty.)
These relapses weren't random, though. I have to clear away leftovers and rearrange both my refrigerator and freezer, because I made vegetable stock for the first time tonight, then a batch of my first attempt at mu shu vegetables. Now I have 6 pints of stock to cram into a small freezer, and chopped vegetables stuffed into all the corners of my fridge! I suppose I will get my vegetable fix. :)
Maybe I'll be vegan next week.
