We're home. Boring details.

The museling is currently asleep in the glider on mr. muse after a looooooong night of him (the museling) being exhausted but being afraid of sleeping. I spent about three or four hours rocking him with him sleeping for ten or fifteen minutes and then crying for five on endless repeat. At four in the morning he woke all bright-eyed and played and had a bottle with me (I'd sent mr. muse to bed at some point in the wee hours, since there wasn't much point in us both getting no sleep), but then he had a melt-down. I think he realized anew I wasn't his foster mother when he was eating. He clearly needed some real sleep and would only settle if I was walking with him. I swear he wanted me to walk a marathon, but finally he conked out and I rocked with him some more.

When mr. muse got up we managed a successful transfer of the museling to his crib and me to our bed... the museling was startled when he woke up a bit later, but mr. muse was able to calm him down. I just slept on obliviously, thank goodness.

I'm not sure what today will hold. I'm still running on not enough sleep and am emotional, as you might expect. I guess that's normal for a new baby. :)

Anyway, even with a late arrival and a last minute change of our escort we're all home. It's weird to be standing in the airport with people coming off of a flight and one of them just handing you a child. His foster families sent us a few gifts and tons of pictures of him, which is amazing. We're very grateful to them for all that they've done; the museling is shy with strangers but has definitely been loved.
