Thank you all again for all of your well-wishes on our upcoming parenthood. :) There's something really bizarre about having someone hand a child to you and tell you to go off and have a life as a family together, but from all accounts that happens at a hospital birth, too. So I'm not worrying about it too much. :)
The museling should be coming in tomorrow night, and we've been scrambling like crazy to get everything done beforehand. Somehow we will. mr. muse is being a trooper and handling all sorts of things, including going down to the police station to check our car seat installation. I know you don't know him, but this was a huge thing because mr. muse doesn't like to chit-chat with strangers... which actually worked out really well, because the officers there weren't chit-chatters either so they could all be uncommunicative men together.
Anyway, I will try to post when I can to let you know that we haven't been felled by a nine-month-old. I hope we'll have a pretty focused weekend of bonding, and then we get to the nonsense of next week including the museling's first doctor's appointment and a new freezer being delivered (because when we turned on our old one to put all of the food I cooked in it we found that apparently it is having issues). The week after that is our first post-placement social worker visit. (Because no, oh no, the adoption red tape, hoops, and paperwork isn't over yet. We've probably got another year of stuff to go.)
But I guess all of that stuff is life stuff, right? Family life stuff.
