Something interesting with the CBC News coverage of the election campaign : they have a series of 'diary entries' from a mysterious insider, read aloud in a slot on the evening news. Basically, they have created a mystery blogger news-cast. Of course, they would nevereverinamillionyears call it that. 'cuz that's what they are trying to compete with - bloggers (mebbe not this blogger, but there are some widely red political/news bloggers. Honest). It's interesting that I've only seen this tactic used this once. Sure, it's not a new thing; I can't think of examples, but I'm certain there are examples to be found where newspapers have done this. Or magazines. But national news-casts? News programs usually do stuff like this with "visually protected" scrambled pictures of the 'informant' to 'protect their identity'. People needed to actually see the news source, even if they couldn't actually see the news source. That's why it's TV, right? It's interesting how technology changes things. Suddenly the 'interview format' isn't all-powerful necessary.

Life's been good. Lost at poker on Sunday, but had a fun night overall. Except for one rather drunk participant. jennemmer kind of covered that, though. And it's really her story to tell, not mine. So yes. Good night there. Lots of fun watching football and losing 20$. Well, losing in the end, anyway.

Saturday was good, too. Got to skate at the MTS Center. Lots of fun. Thanks muchly to D_ who invited jennemmer and I. I have to say, looking up at all the stands and stuff was coool. So was sitting on the bench. It sure is wobbly. The buzzer getting toyed with? not so cool. Man, that thing is loud. hehe.

soshimyk! I HAVE YOUR CHRISTMAS PRESENT! Muahaha! I am scary-prepared this year. Mostly 'cuz there are a lot of people I might only see once-or-twice in Dec. and I want their gifts already handy. Sadly, I don't have all my shopping done yet, because I am anal-perfectionist about getting decent gifts. Not change-the-world-fantastic gifts. Just decent ones. They're hard to find sometimes. And no, to someone-who-shall-remain-nameless, The Fleshlight Company is not a valid source for my Christmas Gift shopping. (please note! that link is not safe for work... now that I find out some people actually read this at work)

My mom found out today that the whole engine of the VW needs replacing, she was under some mistaken impression that this was not the case. Anyways, 2000cc porsche engines from 1978 are not something in my budget, let's put it that way.
