I’m just wondering, as I’m sitting here listening to Florence and the Machine, who here listens to music as they write? Do they find it calming or annoying? Distracting or helpful background noise that drowns out the rest of the world so you can concentrate on that story?
Myself, I enjoy listening to music constantly. There are so many good bands out there, that I like being surprised by finding something new to listen to when I play Pandora/iHeart/Rdio/other radio stations. Plus, it does help when there’s a lot of crowd noises if you’re in a really popular wifi hot spot. But that’s just me, and I was curious how others worked on writing.
Other than that, my short story as my sister’s graduation present is practically done and I am looking at creating a cover for it as well, to really surprise her. My fantasy novel got two more pages last night, and I even jotted a couple of poems down-nothing particularly stellar, but still it was something.
