Checkpoint Ringo.

Jul 14, 2005 16:50

Okay, funny story. Mikey and I are walking to the Metro station yesterday after work. It's hot as hell, so I've removed my button-down shirt (Woo woo!) and am wearing my Beatles "Let It Be" tee. As we're crossing the street, we pass a group of five or so Eastern Europeans in matching gray shirts. One of them sees me, smiles and points to my shirt, and they all stop and get my attention. Apparently they want to take a picture. He says something about "Ringo", and they're all commending him for having spotted my shirt. I noticed a clipboard with a list of some sort on it, and for whatever reason, they held up a tin of Altoids when the picture was taken. So they were in a scavenger hunt of some sort...I hope. Hopefully this isn't going on the Internet, and it's not some bizarre branding ritual marking me for death in Prague. If it is...well, I've had a good run. Seriously though, what are the odds? That t shirt, on that day, at that time? If I wasn't ready to turn tail and run, I would've asked them to sing a few lines of "It Don't Come Easy" or "Yellow Submarine". Whew. Anyway, I'll talk more tomorrow. It will be Friday, after all, and I will be looking to waste the precious time and money of a trusted media company.

End communication.
