What to say? Three matches. I think that Kidman was overlooked this year mainly because the movie didn't (couldn't) resonate with audiences. Yes, it was flawed as a film but her performance was very raw in her controlled kind of way. Very, very damaged painful performance. As for Rueda, she is fantastic - these roles very, very rarely get the attention they deserve due to the 'horror' genre moniker, but it wouldn't have ever acheived the 'jump' factor without her performance and it is one of the few times the 'sacrificial mom' element has rung true for me as a theme.
