A voice was chanting

I'm in the process of going through voter's guides (because generally having an idea about who you're electing is a good thing). So I'm looking at the candidates for MSU regents (I still don't understand why they're publicly elected positions, but that's a side issue). Anyway, two candidates stuck out. First one is Lauren Elizabeth Spencer of the Green party, whose biography begins, I kid you not: "I am a sophomore at Michigan State University majoring in Social Relations." Only slightly less amusing is J.P. Denoyer of the Libertarian party: "I was born in Ann Arbor in 1976 and am a life-long resident of Michigan." I mean, okay, so he's at least 30 now, but still, that's not much older than me and my friends. I'm imagining, say, djsamwise coming up to me and being like, hey, I've decided I'm gonna run for MSU trustee! Not that he's not an intelligent guy or anything... just completely, y'know, unqualified.

So I've decided I'm going to run for MSU regent next election. I'll be the candidate for the newly-formed Doom and Cookies platform. My campaign? "Vote for me! We have cookies!" I think I'd be a shoe-in.
