And they are soooo cute!

They are floating in their bag from the fish store, acclimating to the new tank. Prothvar has been moved back to his old tank, so he can "forget" about the 5gal being his first. I'll probably give it about a week of keeping them in the two tanks before I move him back.

Fin and Feather is going to try and get some pygmy cories for me, possibly even by tomorrow. *They* won't outgrow this tank. Which appears to be good to go, but I don't want to put Prothvar in it yet. As I understand it, bettas are better able to deal with other fish if the other fish are there first, rather than "moving in" on the betta's ( Read more... )

Working on getting the new tank cycled and livable. It's a 5-gal Minibow, to which I've so far added two banana plants and a tiger lotus. I'm hoping the plants will help accelerate the nitrite spike, since that is how it seemed to work in Prothvar's 1-gal, but perhaps it won't work quite the same with an artificial cycle.
