So, I've been a little heavier than I'd like to be for a while now. This last week, I just kind of let go and had some real sodas and more than a bit of alcohol. Now I am finding that some of my clothes have to wait until I attain my more average weight. The really disconcerting bit is that now all my underwear are tight - F.
If I gained my weight in my hips or more just all over, this might not be such a problem, but I've inherited narrow hips and a weight pattern that packs on fat right up front. I've got a tidy little belly forming and I've got more of a boyish shape (i.e. no visible waist).
I've also been watching some of these food documentaries like Forks Over Knives and Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead. I've always worked on losing weight through the old weight watchers formula, but I'm hearing all this good stuff about Paleo, the 8 hour diet and Plant strong eating. So I've decided on combining several of these strategies. The short version would be Paleo with beans.
No (or very limited) dairy (plant strong and paleo)
No grains (the big part of Paleo)
TONS of vegetables (i.e the plant strong diet part)
Still gonna eat those beans and drink some soy milk (more plant strong stuff - screw Paleo on this front)
No sugar
Still mostly counting the weight watchers points
Don't know what I'm going to do about alcohol, just limit it mostly
Startted strong yesterday even though I had a Guinness, just gotta keep it up, I want to be 125 (or at least under 130) by Pennsic. which means losing 12 lbs in 7 weeks. I'm also instituting some exercise and weight lifting without adjusting my WW points for the extra exercise (I've done that before, doesn't bother me, but now I don't have carbs, so we'll see. D is also trying to lose weight, but in a different way, so we're trying to reconcile our differing eating needs.
