Yes, I admit, I watch American Idol. I love Simon's trademark brand of snark. And now that Paula Abdul seems to be off the painkillers, she occasionally has an interesting comment to make.
I'll admit here that, for me, Kris Allen had pretty much zero appeal as a performer. Now, if I were 12-14 years old, yeah, I can see thinking he was adorable. He's cute in that very non-threatening kind of way that girls that age love. But as a singer, to me, he's the musical equivalent of Wonder Bread. Or maybe a Wonder Bread and marshmallow fluff sandwich. Again, I don't think he's a horrible person, and I wish him well. I just thought that Adam Lambert was by far the more talented performer, and certainly more interesting.
On the other hand, now Adam isn't stuck recording the bland (at best) "No Boundaries." So I guess there is an up side.
