The funeral home has the obituary posted. It should be in some of the papers come Monday. This is the full obituary as the papers will use a shortened version.

Things aren't looking the best for her at all. She did return to the nursing home on Monday. Though Tuesday they called and asked what to really do. She's choked on every meal they had feed her. Day 7 of grandma being in the hospital. Overall the nurse felt she was looking better today. Overnight she pulled her cathater out and they have been cleaning her since then. Otherwise she was eating some and had asked for her glasses. Someone from Trinity had ran them up to her. No word yet on when she may be released.

She's still in the hospital. They said she didn't eat much at all to nothing at breakfast and lunch. Though one of the Trinity Manor staff came up that evening and she ate everything for them.

I got a call from grandma's doctor Thurs.  Guess she had pulled thenose feeding tube out over night and they had been unsuccessful atputting it in.  They also ran more tests which didn't show anythingpositive.  At this time they would normally put in the permanetefeeding tube.  Though he was nice enough (without me asking oranything) she say that ( Read more... )

Well after our not so wonderful day in training I called the hospital. They didn't know too much. They did the swallow study today and that doctor would need to review it and then work with Dr. Bakley (grandma's doctor) and have him review it as well. I got a call from Alverna today just as I would have landed from the plane ride from Joplin to KC. Called her back and they couldn't tell her much up at the hospital since she wasn't authorized to get information. Though she didn't think grandma was doing real well. Well the nursing home found a newer chair for her to try. So far she likes it according to the lady at the nursing home. I haven't heard anymore from grandma on it or Alverna so that's good. Hopefully it will stay that way several months ( Read more... )

Well for the first time ever, though I'm sure its only cause I asked them, I was called when grandma returned from the emergency room. They found nothing broken and sent her back to the nursing home to be monitored. At least that was decent news. Now I'm just completely wipped.
