sleeping

if you could make a career out of sleeping then this week I would be up for a promotion. I'm sleeping even more than the cats and yet I'm still ready to sleep some more. I'm also eating far too much and not getting out at all. so I guess if I could face weighing myself I'd find that I have gained weight.

I've managed a couple of small tasks today. I'm worried that the first of the students will be here in 10 days and then the onslaught begins a couple of days later and I can then expect to be exhausted for the next 3 months. that's just the norm for the autumn term. it is relentless. I had hoped that I'd be able to use the summer to get organised both at home and at work but I've spent it asleep (or chasing around after various bands). my bronchitis does appear to have more or less cleared up with just the occasional fit of coughing and my ears are mostly fine now.

I look around me now at the mess that is my office and feel depressed. then I remember that compared to the rest of the house this room isn't all that bad and cry. at least by the end of this academic year, financially things will improve as the last installment of school fees are payable in April, or is it March?

the best news today is that Joey has beaten the pneumonia - go Joey!
