Much better day today

I stayed up until 12:30 last night, determined to finish a lariat, bracelet and earrings set. That made me very happy. I wanted to post pictures but it will have to wait until this evening because my darling girl ran off to school wearing my creations. She did ask, right after she said "OOOOH, that's PRETTY!" and I told her she could with one condition. If people ask about the jewelry, she will be my one woman salesperson and tell them Mommy made them and that she takes commissions. Bree is always on me about starting up my own bead business. :)

Anyway, the set was inspired a monthly bead kit I subscribed to. The thing is I didn't really follow the directions. For the second kit, I followed the instructions because I'd never worked with memory wire before. But the first kit needed to be something other than what it was supposed to be so I went to my stash and brought out some additional beads and went to work. I think I'm going to post pics of each kit with the original directions and what I end up with. I like the kits because they are teaching me new techniques, give me something fun in the mail each month and inspire my creativity.

Spent the morning yesterday have breakfast and doing some window shopping with my friend Laura. I scored a great Star Wars t-shirt in the kids section of the GAP. Makes me happy to know I can still rock the 14/16 size in the youth department. Today I'm going to see my kids because I'm bringing them all the leftover food from Howard's conference yesterday. Tonight I might get to see some of my closest friends. I predict much silliness and laughter tonight.

If you are like me and you like 80's music and you also like reggae, then the soundtrack for "50 First Days" is a must have. I am so loving this album. Also, as a fan of standards and Harry Connick Jr., I think the soundtrack to "When Harry met Sally" is completely made of awesome.

I am feeling much, much better today. I think the fact that it's the end of a long week coupled with a nap yesterday and downtime with my beads and my friends really helped. Stress seems the likely culprit for yesterday's blahs.

Going to go have some brekkie, read the paper and commune with my orchids.

Have a great day everyone.

life, beading, me
