The Constant Princess by
Philippa Gregory My rating:
2 of 5 stars After enjoying "The Other Boleyn Girl" sooooo much I was expecting great things from this book and was incredibly disappointed.
If Gregory is going to take the time to write about actual characters from the past and turn them into her fictional interpretations why on earth she would not make them likable is beyond me. Or at least make them the type of characters you love to hate. I just didn't like them...any of them.
Catherine (the main character) was arrogant and self righteous and prone to long drawn out speeches that did not really move the story along. While she did have some self development throughout the book I did not feel it was enough of a turn around to make her someone I cared about reading about.
