A restless Draco had never been a good Draco.  He was prone to doing all sorts of things, like sneak out of the house to fly his broom unsupervised or talk the House Elves into playing Potter and the Dark Lord or end up reading a book about, of all things, the history of madness in Pureblooded lineages.  That was what he'd been doing when he'd fallen asleep the night before and he'd woken up at half-nine from a nightmare in which he and Aunt Bellatrix shared a room at St. Mungo's, braiding each other's hair by day and killing Muggles by night.

He still hadn't gotten rid of the image by the time he got out of the shower and he stood in his room dripping wet in nothing but a towel for a few long minutes, wondering just how bored you had to be to pick up the book in the first place, and making up his mind to finish it the second he got home.

By the time he'd found his way into a long-sleeved shirt that may or may not have been Zak's and a pair of jeans, it was apparent that he had to get out of the house.  When reading about the madness of Purebloods became a hobby, Draco mused as he jogged down the stairs, he needed more of a social life.

He made his way into the sitting room, mentally thinking over the things he had to do when he got to Diagon Alley.  Since he'd promised Theo a book (Why does he need any more? Draco thought, perusing one of Severus' many stacks of tomes.) a trip to a bookstore was in his near future.  And since he'd decided he missed Pansy more than he wanted to throttle her, he had to buy her expensive bath things and then deliver them to her flat.  He wanted to buy some new robes because Merlin knew he looked almost appalling in what he had to wear, but he'd promised that trip to Potter.

Draco decided it didn't matter where he had to go, really, since just getting out of the house was enough to make him giddy.  Bring on the crowds and the molesting seamstresses and the stress of taking a step outside into a world that required he be home before sunset.  Draco was just bored enough to be ready for them.

Which was just that old Draco recklessness at play again, but at least Theo would be there to keep him out of trouble.
