In Lieu of Bureaucratic Nonsense
Let it here be known publicly that as long as I am Headmistress of Hogwarts School, I will continue to hire those individuals I believe best suited to guide our future generations and continue to enact school policies as I deem fit to enhance acceptance of diversity in our world.
Anyone who is dissatisfied with policies or staff appointments at Hogwarts is most earnestly invited to send their children somewhere else. Hogwarts represents excellence in Wizarding Education and I will not allow that history to falter because of political bigotry.
Professor Severus Snape will continue as Head of Slytherin House, Potions Master, and will be instated as Deputy Headmaster next fall, presuming he completes his training period this year and wishes to accept the post at that time. His years of service, dedication to Hogwarts excellence, devotion to protecting and guiding the students in his charge, and undeniable talent in his chosen field all make him an incredible asset to this school.
Professor Remus Lupin will continue as Head of Gryffindor House and Defence Against the Dark Arts professor for as long as he chooses to retain the post. His condition does not remotely affect his teaching ability nor his strong compassion as he guides the children in his House. If anything, it gives him unique insights both into his subject and into the needs of those children who might feel particularly disenfranchised or downtrodden.
The Wizarding World expects excellence in education from Hogwarts School, and I will continue to see that such excellence is provided without regard to today's political winds or yesterday's prejudices.
The Board of Governors knows my position on these subjects. If they find that my policies do not answer the desires of the parents whose children attend Hogwarts, they are free to appoint a different Head for the school.
While I retain the post, I will continue to discharge my duty in the manner in which I believe Hogwarts will best thrive and provide the best foundation for our young people.
