A last minute shopper had delayed Caleb to the point he was annoyed. Any other evening he wouldn't of minded, but it was Friday night, which meant Stella was waiting for him. They'd lost enough time last weekend when he'd had to meet Snape, then their normal mid-week lunch had been derailed.

He just wanted to be home.

When he finally opened the door to their flat, he found Stella curled up on the couch watching a movie. Caleb found it amusing that Stella was still vaguely fascinated by the tv, particular his movies.

He walked to the couch, a huge grin on his face. Bracing his hands on the back of the sofa, he leaned down and kissed Stella hello before plopping down next to her. "What are we watching?" he asked, putting an arm around her shoulders and pulling her close.

Having never owned a television before, Stella was still a bit amazed by the whole thing. Besides, it made a good distraction for times like this. However, her entire focus immediately shifted over to Caleb the moment he walked in the door, and she quickly paused the movie as he moved towards the sofa.

"Hello, love," she smiled, looking up at him after she had settled in his arms. "I was watching 'Shakespeare in Love'- it's very good, but I'd much rather look at you right now." Movies could wait, after all- her time with Caleb was limited to weekends, and she'd rather not waste any of it in watching movies, no matter how good they were.

"I knew you only wanted me for my dashing good looks," Caleb teased, cupping her face with his hand. "God I've missed you," he told her, kissing her softly befor pulling back. "How was your week? Did it get any better?" he asked, as Stella snuggled against him.

It felt like the first time all week that he was able to relax. He been so on edge that he hadn't been sleeping well, and everything felt out of sorts. But finally, he had Stella, and as always, she was able to settle him in ways nothing else could.

"It was awful," she confided, laying her head against Caleb's shoulder. "The students were just rotten this week- if I didn't know better, I'd have thought it was a Full moon!" Werewolves weren't the only people the Full effected- it was well known among the Hogwarts professors that the students always went a bit mad during the week of the Full.

"And I was buried in parchment for the entire week- I finally finished just before my classes last night, so I didn't have to bring any of it home, thankfully." Stella sighed, relaxing at the feel of Caleb's arms around her. "I am so glad it is Friday. I think I would have gone crazy with another day away from you." She looked up at him, smiling softly. "How was your week?"

Caleb's excitement was contagious, and Stella found herself grinning along with him as she tied her hair back. "I haven't flown in a while, either- and it's been years and years since I was on a broom with someone," she admitted, thinking that the last time had probably been on some short trip with her father or brother.

Stella seated herself on the broom, insuring that there was enough room for Caleb. "Just climb on behind me, love," she said, smiling as he settled himself behind her, wrapping his arms securely around her waist.

"Ready?"

"Oh yeah," Caleb replied, squeezing Stella around the waist, resisting the urge to push off from the ground himself. Now that they were this close, he couldn't wait to get in to the air.

And then they were off and Caleb's stomach dropped to his toes before settling somewhere in his throat. He wanted to whoop and yell like a little kid, and he couldn't have wiped the grin off his face if there was a wand to his head.

"I love you!" he shouted instead, laughing aloud.

Caleb's laugh was lost on the wind, making Stella smile and laugh along with him. She had nearly forgotten how much she loved this- as someone who spent most of her time looking at the sky, it should have been no surprise that she loved being up in the sky- but somehow it had been far too long since she'd done this. She pulled them high above Hogsmeade, the village growing smaller and smaller beneath them as Stella lazily turned them in the direction of Hogwarts. Her broom was not moving as quickly as usual with the extra weight, but Stella did not mind in the least. They weren't worried about speed, after all- this was purely for fun ( ... )

Caleb felt like he was flying for the first time. He had the same feeling of thrill and excitement as he had when he flew on his first broom. It was all the better that he was able to share it with Stella.

"Over the lake?" Caleb called in return, loosening his hold a bit now that he'd got his 'broom legs' back. His sense of balance had returned enough that he didn't feel like he was going to slide off the back of the broom at any moment.

Caleb took Stella's hands in his own, letting her pull him down on top of her. "Oh I dunno, I rather you like you this way," he informed her, bracing his forearms on either side of her to take some of his weight. "Recently thrown," he said, a huge grin on his face.

Leaning on one elbow, he reached his other hand up to caress her cheek. There were times, like now, that her beauty left him completely gobsmacked. He may never understand why she chose to be with him of all of people, but he was grateful for it every day.

"How much time do you get off for the hols?" he asked, trying to remember his days at school and how long the break was for Christmas. He was looking forward to their first Christmas together, and was already making a list in his head of things he wanted to get for her.

The look in Caleb's eyes nearly took her breath away, and it took her a moment to process that he was speaking, let alone comprehend what he was actually saying!

"Oh, um-" she bit her lip and thought for a moment. "The term ends on December 15th, and then we go back on January 14th." Stella grinned up at Caleb, bringing a hand up to run through his hair. "So we'll get a whole month together," she smiled. Stella knew that Caleb would be working a lot, of course, especially since Charlotte was due just before the holidays. Still, it would mean a lot more time together for both of them.

"Best Christmas present ever," he said, excited at the prospect of having a month together. The Full would fall right in the middle, but even that couldn't dampen his enthusiasm at the prospect. It was going to be harder than ever when she had to go back to school in January, but he planned to make the most of their time together.

Stella nodded, agreeing with Caleb. Being able to spend a month's worth of nights with him would be wonderful, but it would be tough to then get used to being back at school again afterwards.

She nudged Caleb until he was laying on his side, and she rolled slightly so she was facing him, her hand still threaded through his hair. "Speaking of which, what do you want for Christmas?" Stella asked, smiling. It was still a bit early, to be sure, but as Caleb had brought it up...
