Cara wondered when she stopped feeling so alone. When was the last time her heart ached from the loneliness she'd always felt inside? Cara glanced over at her three sleeping companions and smiled, the answer as clear as the stars shining above. She wasn't ready to tell them just yet, but Richard, Kahlan and Zedd had chased that loneliness away with their love and friendship. Their acceptance of who she was with no reservations, meant more to her than she could ever tell them. For the first time, she felt free. Free to be herself, free to love and be loved. She had the one thing she wouldn't give up for anything. She looked over as Zedd snored and smiled, almost tenderly. She had a family.
