Cordy watched with amusement as Angel put yet another piece of bread into the toaster. He'd burned four slices already, but couldn't figure out why. He tossed the burned toast into the trash, shaking the toaster, trying to figure out what was wrong. When that didn't work, he banged his hand on it. She smiled. He was so cute when he was frustrated.
Finally, she took pity on him. "Angel, let's just go out for breakfast," she said, trying not to laugh. "I'm in the mood for waffles."
A tender look passed between them, both remembering their first breakfast together.
