Cordy sat at the front counter painting her fingernails when Wesley, Gunn and Angel walked in the front door of the Hyperion. "Did you find anything?" she asked as she finished applying a coat of Sangria Shimmer to her pinky finger.
"No," Angel sighed as all three men sat down at once.
Wesley looked up at her, finally noticing what she was doing. "Are you doing that on the only remaining copy of Suleman's Compendium known to be in existence?"
Cordy looked down at the book and then at Wesley. "It would appear so, yes."
"Cordelia--"
"Oops," she said as she knocked the bottle over.
"Cordelia, how you could be so irresponsible?" Wesley asked as all three men hurried over. "That book is--"
"Perfectly fine," Cordy finished, grinning as Wesley stared at the book in disbelief. Not a drop of fingernail polish sullied even a single page. "Gotcha. Happy April Fool's Day, Wes."
"You have an evil streak. You know that, right?" Wes asked, smiling.
"It's one of my many charms," Cordy laughed.
