He'd lived a long time. Over 200 years as Cordy had so often liked to remind him. There wasn't much he hadn't done or seen, but the one thing he never got used to was losing the people he loved.
He looked down at the photograph in his hand. Cordy. Smiling that trademark Cordelia Chase smile he'd always loved. He sat down with a heavy sigh. He missed her desperately. Without her, it was a struggle just to get through each day. Oh, he still went out and fought the good fight, but it didn't seem worth it anymore. Not without her by his side. He wasn't the same man without her.
He let out a breath he didn't need and wished for things he couldn't change. He wished he could go back in time and right so many wrongs. A lone tear slipped down his face, remembering all he'd lost. Losing Doyle, the night he'd lost Connor to Holtz, but most of all, losing Cordy. If only he could go back in time, if only he had been there the night she'd ascended and stopped her, if only he hadn't lost the one true love of his life. If only...
