Slash rating:
This fic is a thought provoking exploration of John's inner turmoil, his trauma and his gradual healing.
The writer uses some very nice imagery to convey John's (sometimes dark) thoughts and feelings. This contrasted against his recurring light-hearted thoughts of taking a bath make the introspection somewhat starker.
The writer also manages to portray so much about John's character by the way in which he learns to live with Sherlock's somewhat trying personality.
It isn't all angst. There are some amusing moments too; Sherlock's sulking, the dialogue between John and Sherlock and often John's own thoughts.
The story moves at a steady pace, the language is engaging and the few spelling errors that there are, are easily overlooked.
Overall, this is an interesting character study and a good read if you are looking for a fic which has managed to capture John's character and point of view in a finely detailed manner.
