Akumal Beach Resort - Thursday

Feb 28, 2008 03:17

The day dawned bright and sunny, another beautiful hot day for the Maya Riviera.

The resort woke up slowly, but soon sounds of laughter and splashing from people at the beach and in the pool echoed through the air.

Everything was available again with the addition of a boat setting out in the late morning to take the group from Fandom out snorkeling ( Read more... )

It's what we came for, isn't it?

There's plenty of white sand to lay out on, walk on, play beach volleyball etc.

The water is likewise fine with lots of water gear to float on or play with.

There aren't however any jetskis or other motorized boats here due to the reef that protects the bay the hotel is on.

But you can have kayaks and sailboats and such.

Still with swings!

And this time there are pretty young women to bring drinks too.

Johnny did not stare at the pretty young women. He only glanced. Seriously. He nursed a beer while checking out the waves.

Romeo was perfectly innocent and age-appropriate; he ordered an orange juice as he sat on the swing.

If he flirted with the waitress until she brought out a double shot of vodka to enrich the juice, he was at least discreet about it.

Not quite as good as the beach, but some people like it.

The main pool is what all the FH rooms look out on so wave to your classmates and chaperones while patronising the poolside bar.

There are plenty of pool toys as well as a jacuzzi and many, many chairs to lay out on.

Ron was completely covered up today and sitting in the shade in order to protect himself from getting additional sunburn. Any move he made was accompanied by a whimper.

Mac wandered past, towel dangling from her arm, as she went to find somewhere to sit.

She paused as she got to Ron, giving him a mildly puzzled look. "Are you okay?"

"Sunburn," Ron mumbled as he tried to find a comfortable position to sit. "I apparently spent five minutes in direct sunlight yesterday."

Clothes, jewelry, trinkets for friends and family... Annette was definitely enjoying the shopping. She found a beautiful Rebozo and she loved the silver necklace she purchased.

Everyone's fitting for a mask and flippers and things and give oh so handwavy instructions on how to do this.

Peter was all for snorkeling. He went to get fitted and to make sure he had enough sunblock.

Romeo was willing to try it too, and he was in line behind Peter for the fitting and instructions. "Have you done this before?" he asked.

By the evening, Kerrigan arrived at the restaurant, offering the waiters snippy answers halfway into their questions.

She settled down and tried to figure out just how much food she could scarf on her salary.

Annette was sitting at a table near a large window, enjoying the view of the evening as it was lit up by twinkling lights. A walk along the beach at night would be so nice, she thought as she sipped her drink.

There might be a level at which travelling to Mexico to eat at an Italian restaurant might be a little odd.

Mohinder was paying too much attention to the food to consider it though.
