I would just like to say that I'm tired of all these messages about winglin. I keep seeing messages of people asking when it will be back up and if anyone has saved the fics from there. And every single time I want to tell the people asking if it's coming back, "No, and may it forever rest in peace."
I have no respect for winglin. If you think ffn.net is bad or that most of the fics on lj have gone downhill recently, all I can say is winglin makes them look great. I won't deny that I've been there searching for fics when I got desperate, and I've even found one or two that were good. But they were far from the norm. The norm is usually dbsk+you, apply inside! If they can even spell that. So I would love for winglin to stay dead. But at the same time, it going away means all those authors would migrate somewhere. Probably here. So if it resolving whatever issues and coming back keeps those things it calls fanfics where they are, then I'm actually all for it coming back. As soon as possible. Before more of them migrate.
