I was bored out of my mind this afternoon, what with being sick all week. Joe & I went into Austin to see what was up. First things first: we needed good coffee (Yes, I have ordered 2 pounds from Zingerman's, but it's entirely too expensive that way.)

August 11th is more-or-less the peak of the Perseids meteor shower this year. Joe & I set up shop in a nearby park to look for a few.

I saw about 10; Joe, almost 20. It seems I was always looking the wrong way or futzing with my camera when they did their thing.

The remodel drags on. And on. And on.

Four weeks overdue now. The Ann Arbor house is not yet on the market.

We're going to Austin later this week to start moving in to the new house, but the Pod won't arrive until August 1st. My bad. We'll have to stay several extra days until it arrives, then empty it, before returning ourselves to Ann Arbor and ( Read more... )

Joe, Joe's brother, Will, and I went to the Saline Celtic Festival today.

Fun times! It's my favorite thing to do. Pity it comes only once a year.

I bought a kilt.

I'm wearing it right now. The proper way. :)

Remodel:

• The cabinets are installed.
  
  
• The floor is sanded & stained.
  
  
• The counter tops & drawer pulls & light globes are being fabricated.
  
  
• The appliances have been ordered.
  
  
• Still haven't gotten a call-back from any landscapers. I don't want to have to do it all myself.

New house:

• Closing is scheduled for June 30.
