OMG OMG OMG THE DOCTOR'S WIFE IS THE TARDIS, NEIL GAIMAN WROTE THE TARDIS INTO A BODY, THE DOCTOR CALLS THE TARDIS "SEXY" WHEN THEY'RE ALONE ♥ ♥ ♥
This was a seriously squee-inducing episode. I've come across a lot of fanon about the TARDIS' level of intelligence and read fic where she's the one who "stole" the Doctor. I don't know what kind of basis there is for that in the pre-New Who canon (if any), but seeing it in an actual episode was FANTASTIC. Doctor/TARDIS forever and ever, seriously.
It was also a real treat to see more of the TARDIS interior, even if it was just corridors (and the old control room - nice touch!). I'm still looking forward to seeing the swimming pool some day.
Other thoughts:
- AHAHAHAHA, TARDIS thinks Rory is the pretty one :-D
- Sex swapping between regenerations is CANON.
- The passcode was a beautiful little detail, wasn't it?
- All those creepy, horror-esque scenes were so Gaiman, imo.
- "The only water in the forest is the river." Reference to River? Or we're supposed to think it's about River?
-Rory and Amy were sleeping in bunkbeds and the Doctor doesn't get why they'd want anything different, awww :-)
Conclusion: Yeah, I loved it.
