So I managed to break my unbreakable titanium glasses. Oops? I wasn't even doing anything, I just took them off to polish them and one of the lenses fell out. Thought it had just popped out of the frame since it's done that once before but no, the frame was broken on one side. :(
Now this shouldn't have been a problem since the manufacture/store has a lifetime warranty on these frames. Except I went to have them replaced and this particular frame isn't available anymore. Out of stock and not coming back. The only other frames they could make the lenses fit into were a lot smaller than mine. I tried them on and they looked like children's glasses on my big round face. *sighs* The man in the store agreed that they really didn't fit me at all and therefore weren't an option except maybe temporarily.
The thing is I probably need new lenses anyway, it's been three years, my eyes get tired a lot plus one of the lenses somehow got all scratched. Not sure how that happened. So yeah, new glasses altogether would be the ideal thing since I'd get the new frame for free and would only have to pay for the lenses. Except that is so not in our budget right now. *double sigh* I did ask if I'd get a discount since I wouldn't even be doing this if the frame was in fact unbreakable and he assured me they'd work something out. Not sure what that exactly means. Probably not as much as I'm hoping.
So either I get the tiny frames with my old lenses temporarily and then get to change to a frame that actually fits me later on when I can afford new lenses. Or I go with new everything. I still have birthday money from the inlaws earmarked (by them) for new shoes that I haven't had time yet to go buy. Might just use that and take money out of our account to buy shoes in the new year instead.
