i heard some quote the other day that went something like "go somewhere once, you are a tourist. go somehere twice and you are home." i spent the afternoon on calle ocho today, since it is a short walk from my house. i like it up there. the tourists amuse me, even though i look like one myself. i kinda stick out in my neighborhood, being like the only white person(well, i have a white neighbor.) i like this neighborhood though. i can actually walk places and even though it is a little rough and gritty, it is endearing and has itsunique brand of charm. kind of like me.
