Summer is a'comin'!
I'm so tickled and excited.
Yesterday, I bought Geo a new charcoal grill and cover as a belated Easter gift. (A minor catastrophe transporting it home was one of the reasons I was in a bad mood yesterday evening, which contributed to my ranty post, though I didn't mention it.)
Then today, we stopped by Slindy's, which is this junk store that you can find really good deals on stuff if you look carefully. We got a 4-quart ice cream maker! And its motor works! And we got it for $9.99! So this summer, I think we're going to host a cookout, with burgers on the grill and homemade ice cream. Exciting!
And Geo has mentioned wanting to put in a patio. We've got a perfect spot for it, but right now there is a beautiful antique rose bush there, so we'll have to figure out when and where to transplant that without traumatizing it too much.
And I don't have to work 4th of July weekend this year, which means that Geo and I can go back to Ohio for the BBQ and fireworks!
And in June, we're spending a week on the beach with the entire fam (hopefully my bro and SiL will be able to come).
It's going to be a fun summer, methinks!
