(no subject)

Met silverjet_allie, minx2012 and Pete last night, to see Mark Steel doing his Viva la Revolution show.
We had a bite to eat at an Italian restaurant first.
Mark Steel was very good, using his overview of the French Revolution as a frame to hang an observational stand-up performance on.  Could maybe have done with more historical detail, but managed to be entertaining as well as making political points.  Some hilarious digressions, along with the discussions of such subjects as riots ("people always say, 'what are they demanding?'.  It's not as simple as that...no-one throws a chunk of paving slab through a window and shouts 'That's for Clause 4(b), stating that we want democratic elections for all municipal offices...'").
Afterwards, we went to a diner for milkshakes.  Was good fun, and the shakes were just right to end the evening off.
