So, the truck was made drivable on Tuesday. Had issues with the tow company on Monday, but I got it covered by my insurance and the truck eventually got to the place. My friend Leslie was with me for a few hours while we waited for the tow (which was 3-4 hours late), but I told her to head off and get her things done since idk how much longer the wait would be. I ended up dealing with the truck stuff by myself but it was okay. The battery was dead so that had to be replaced. Tuesday morning when the shop called to tell me the estimate, I was in a deep sleep and dreaming a good dream. Of course I was not really with it and the $400-500 freaked me out, so the first part of Tuesday included lots of crying and freaking out. The rest of the day I felt sad and down, but in the end I got to drive the truck home.
Today I was able to go into hospice and volunteer again. It has been a couple months, since mid-December, since I did laundry. This was probably the worst part of not having a working vehicle because I know it helps the nurse aids a lot to have someone taking care of client laundry. Everyone was happy to see me, one nurse even came in to say hi and I got to see a woman I had the volunteer orientation class with a year ago who has a shift on Saturdays now. I felt a little dizzy and got light headed while talking for some reason, and I feel a bit out of it in general. Which is nothing new I guess.
