2024’s last practice
We have shows for the next 4 weekends, and then plan to take the rest of the year off. There may be one last show at the end of the year, but that’s not sure yet.
Assuming it doesn’t come through, this will be our last practice of the year.
My wife and I celebrated by going out for brunch where the troupe Christmas party will be held in December.
It was a sort of damp cool day, but we were still able to work outside. Tom and I did the fight we’ve been doing for 21 years with the old big swords we did them with before we realized they are 3 times heavier than the historical ones. It does build up your arms.
Then we gave some historical rapier lessons to the new folks.
It doesn’t look like the new family will make any of our performances this year. But, I still did another exercise of having them write a fight with an experienced person in 5 minutes and perform it. Not polished fights, but good exercise.
